Hello
everyone! Wow, did we have a great week. This week was all about other
religions and how to reach them.
It was so great to learn about some
other religions and how we can reach each of them. We learned about Mormonism,
Jehovah’s Witnesses, Islam, Buddhism, and Witchcraft. We continued to see that,
although all of them were far from truth, they each had a bit of truth in them.
It showed us that God is always so faithful to point back to Himself. He never
gives up on His people. To every people group and religion, God always makes
Himself known. That gave us a lot of hope. Some times it can be discouraging
when talking to people of other faiths; it seems like they will never
understand. We can know that God is faithful and loves them. We will share with
them and let the Holy Spirit minister to them on a deeper level.
As we learned about all these religions,
Islam and Buddhism both stuck out to us the most. We feel like we are called to
working with people who believe in those two religions. This is just even more
confirming for our heart to spread the gospel to China. It was pretty cool to
get a new piece of what God has in store for us in our future.
On Tuesday afternoon we went on a
tour of down town Minneapolis with John Mayer. It was a great experience that
we learned a lot during. Minneapolis is home to so many immigrants and
especially ones whose homelands missionaries cannot get into. For example, Minneapolis has the
largest number of Somali, Hmong, Oromo Ethiopian, Liberian, Karen Burmese, and
Anuak populations in the US, as well as the second largest Tibetan population.
We don’t have to go around the world anymore to reach people of a different
nation, they have come to us. It is like the great commission has come to us
now.

has 5 people living in it while the bottom one has 70-90 people living
in it.

This is us with our food we got at the world market. It was really good.
It really was a great week that we
learned and got to see a lot of neat things. Next week we will be in the Pine
Ridge Native American Reservation leading a youth group on a one week mission
trip. Prayers for that would be amazing. We leave Sunday the 12th to
drive there and will be back on Saturday the 18th.
Please pray that we will be able to
help minister to the youth group students. They are middle school aged students
on their first mission trip. Pray that God would give us the words to encourage
them in their faith. Also pray for the Native America children we will be
working with. Our class along with the youth group will be giving a Vacation
Bible School in the afternoons for the local children. The program is for
5-10…but we are expecting younger and older kids as well. We are excited and
know that God is going to do great things during our time there. Thank you so
much for all your prayer!
God bless you,
In Christ,
Nate and Julianne Gibbons
